Overview
Cash Management is a cloud software solution designed to help financial institutions manage their cash effectively. It provides banks and other financial institutions with a comprehensive set of tools to manage their cash flow and optimize their liquidity management processes.
The solution enables banks to manage their cash positions in real-time, providing a clear view of their cash position across all accounts, currencies, and geographies. Finastra Cash Management also provides automated cash forecasting and cash flow analysis, allowing banks to better manage their cash reserves and optimize their investment strategies.
The Challenge
This was a complex project that a number of designers, developers and business analysts were involved. A very in-depth user design centred approach was triggered in order to accumulate the vast amount of complexity and information required through the design and development lifecycle.
The Key Goals of the project:
Evaluate the current and future journeys of the end users and identify pain points and solutions towards the inevitable goals in order to simplify process
Create visual transaprency and dashboard like information for quick and easy consumption
Improve the experience flow.
My Design Process
In order to make the design complexity easier to our agile teams we set out a release and scope plan based on our research findings and data.
This also derived from a number of workshops with key stakeholders that run over a course of 6 months to make sure all available and critical information were at hand.
After many iterations the following plan was initiated with the priorities and scope of the iterations to follow.
The project also went from numerous wire-framing iterations and user testing (via usertesting.com) and also utilised the Mosaic Design System to product the design and component.
Outcomes & Lessons Learned
The final system helped banks and financial institutions reduce their operational costs, improve their cash management efficiency, and better manage their liquidity risk.
One of the key lessons learned derived from the detailed workflows, as we identified that users maintained a specific workflow based on their routines. Those routines are not easy to break from person to person so we had to adapt to customisations that would enable to match the individual user styles.
